Plain language summary

Reddot does not use advertising cookies

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising, cross site tracking, behavioral profiling, or sale of personal information.

The public Reddot website and demo use local browser storage to remember your cookie choice and optional accessibility settings. If you select “Accept analytics,” the site also loads Google Analytics to help Reddot AI understand aggregate website use. Google Analytics is not loaded when you select “Essential only.” On a new installation, the Chrome extension pauses profile detection, profile storage, and synchronization until you review its disclosure and select “Enable Reddot.” It then uses local browser storage and IndexedDB on your device so it can remember its installation credential, profile connection, settings, recent lookup results, and a separate analytics choice. Extension analytics are off until you expressly allow them.

Cookies on red-dot.ai

A cookie is a small text file placed on a device by a website. Cookies can support essential functions, remember preferences, measure use, or track activity across websites.

Reddot does not use advertising cookies, advertising networks, or social tracking pixels. With your permission, red-dot.ai uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to measure information such as page views, session activity, approximate location, browser type, and device type. We disable Google advertising personalization and Google Signals in our tag configuration. If a strictly necessary security or routing cookie is introduced by our hosting infrastructure, it will be used only to deliver, protect, or balance the service and not for advertising.

Storage used by the Chrome extension

The Reddot extension uses Chrome local storage and IndexedDB within the extension environment. This information stays in your browser profile unless it is synchronized with the Reddot service as described in the Privacy Policy.

Storage itemPurposeTypical duration
Essential-data consentRemember that you affirmatively enabled profile detection, local profile storage, and secure synchronization for Reddot’s disclosed purposeUntil extension storage is cleared or the extension is uninstalled
Installation credentialAuthenticate the extension to the Reddot service without requiring an account or passwordUntil removed, replaced, or the extension storage is cleared
Current profile referenceRemember which public profile is connected to the installationUntil another profile is detected or storage is cleared
Profile and status cacheDisplay signals quickly and reduce repeated server requestsShort lived and refreshed periodically
Pending synchronization dataRetry a necessary update after a temporary connection failureUntil synchronized or cleared
Visibility preferenceRespect whether your signal should be displayed and whether you receive signals of othersUntil you change the preference or clear storage
Extension analytics preferenceRemember whether you allowed anonymous extension usage analytics or selected essential storage onlyUntil you change the preference or clear storage
Random analytics identifierDistinguish anonymous extension usage without using a profile identifier; created only after analytics consentUntil you select “Essential only,” clear storage, or uninstall the extension

The extension does not load Google Analytics scripts or Google cookies. If you select “Allow analytics,” the extension may send an allowlisted event for opening the popup or updating a signal or visibility setting to the Reddot server. The server then forwards that event, the random analytics identifier, and extension version to Google Analytics using Measurement Protocol. These events never include your profile name or URL, profile image, selected signal, page content, or browsing history.

Except for the optional analytics identifier and preference, this local storage is necessary for the extension feature you request. It is not used to follow you across unrelated websites and is not provided to advertisers.

04

Server logs and infrastructure

When your browser requests a website page or the extension communicates with the Reddot application programming interface, our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as Internet Protocol address, request time, route, response status, and device or browser information contained in standard network headers.

This information supports security, fraud prevention, rate limiting, debugging, and reliable delivery. It is not used for advertising. Technical records are retained only for the period reasonably necessary for those purposes and legal obligations.

05

Your choices and controls

  • You can configure your browser to block or delete website cookies.
  • You can open “Cookie settings” on any website page to accept or withdraw consent for Google Analytics.
  • You can open “Cookie settings” inside the extension to allow anonymous extension analytics or select “Essential only.” Selecting “Essential only” deletes the extension’s local analytics identifier and stops future extension analytics events.
  • You can remove extension local data by uninstalling Reddot and clearing its stored data through Chrome.
  • You can turn off profile visibility in the extension before uninstalling.
  • You can request deletion of server records by emailing hello@red-dot.ai.

Website and extension analytics preferences are separate. Selecting “Essential only” in either context does not prevent you from using the public website, demo, or extension. Blocking strictly necessary extension storage may prevent the extension from authenticating, remembering settings, synchronizing a signal, or operating correctly.

06

Global Privacy Control and browser signals

Reddot does not sell personal information or share it for cross context behavioral advertising. As a result, there is no sale or advertising share from which to opt out. We recognize legally binding browser based privacy signals where they apply to the relevant processing.

A Do Not Track signal is not currently governed by a uniform legal standard. Because Reddot does not use advertising or cross site tracking cookies, our practices do not change in response to that signal.

07

Changes and contact

We may update this policy if our use of browser storage or analytics changes. We will continue to provide a consent choice before loading nonessential analytics and will not introduce advertising cookies without updating our disclosures and controls.

Questions about cookies or local storage may be sent to Reddot AI at hello@red-dot.ai. For broader information about how Reddot processes personal information, read our Privacy Policy.
